UNIVERSITY CHURCH OF ST MARY THE VIRGIN

Creating visitor facing interpretation into a church without detracting from its role as a sacred space was an interesting challenge to say the least.

Working with the staff and key stakeholders, interpretative interventions were created to shine a light on the church and its illustrious history as the spiritual heart of Oxford and the University.

Soundscapes, projections, woven fabrics, hand made books displayed on lecterns, stained glass designed roller blinds, café crockery and a large Oxford panorama were all carefully positioned and installed -  in keeping with the church’s interior tower and nave.
