PEMBROKE CASTLE

With a dominant position in the town, and a rich history including the birthplace of King Henry VII, Pembroke Castle is a blockbuster day out for tourists and locals alike. 

Making that history relevant and engaging to a modern day audience, (who haven’t come for a history lesson) has provided us with the chance to dream up some spectacular interventions inside the castle towers and grounds.

A new range of physical, multimedia and digital interpretation has been created, with the most obvious being a 7000 sf ‘Great Map of Wales’ you just can’t miss. It allows visitors free reign to wander, explore and play all over it. Multimedia included five animated projection films retelling the fabled tales of the Earls of Pembroke, while an 8 minute beautifully drone shot introduction film, goes for a deeper dive into the 1000 year old history. Story-telling graphics were reimagined as table tops explaining castle defence and ‘history lessons with humour’ made having lunch on the many picnic tables much more enjoyable.
