Onwards & Upwards
Great to see progress finally being made at Porth Mawr, the 13th century gatehouse in Caernarfon.
This beautiful balustrade has been designed to evoke imagery associated with cinema - film reels, rays of light and movement - which Porth Mawr briefly was for a while in the 20th century. Originally called The Guildhall, or Bug House, the cinema closed its doors for the last time in 1961.
This new staircase leads up to the roof deck gallery which has views across the chimney pots and slate roofs towards Anglesey and beyond.
